At Avicenna Wageningen, we celebrate the two major Islamic holidays Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha together as a community. These occasions are some of the most meaningful moments in our association, where students come together to reflect, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.
🏫 Where we celebrate
Depending on the weather and availability, our Eid celebrations take place in different locations such as:
- Classrooms
- Common rooms
- Public gardens
Each setting creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students to gather and celebrate together.
🍽️ Potluck tradition
Our Eid gatherings are usually organized as potlucks, where everyone brings something delicious to share. This creates a diverse table full of foods from different cultures and backgrounds, reflecting the international character of our community.
🎲 Games, fun, and memories
Beyond food, we also spend time enjoying each other’s company through games such as Uno and other group activities. These moments help strengthen friendships and create a relaxed and joyful environment.
We also take pictures during these celebrations to capture the memories and look back on them in the future.
🔥 Barbecues and special moments
On some occasions, we organize a barbecue, especially when the weather allows it. These outdoor gatherings are always a highlight, combining good food, conversation, and a festive atmosphere.
