Avicenna Ramadan Iftar at WUR and the Mosque

Published on 28 June 2026 at 14:19

Every Ramadan, Avicenna Wageningen organizes two large community Iftars to bring students and the wider community together in a spirit of connection, reflection, and sharing.

These gatherings take place in two different locations: one at the university and one at the local mosque, each with its own purpose and atmosphere.

🏫 University Iftar: Building an Inclusive Campus

The first Iftar is held at Wageningen University. The goal of this gathering is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment on campus for Muslim students during the month of Ramadan.

At the same time, we warmly invite non-Muslim students and staff to join us. This provides an opportunity to experience Ramadan firsthand, learn about its meaning, and share a meal together in a friendly and open setting.

It is an evening dedicated to understanding, dialogue, and community building within the university.

🕌 Mosque Iftar: Connecting Communities

The second Iftar takes place at the local mosque in Wageningen. This event focuses on strengthening the connection between the international student community and the local Muslim community.

By gathering together in the mosque, students are able to experience a more traditional Ramadan setting, while also building meaningful relationships with local residents and families.

This Iftar helps bridge cultures and foster a stronger sense of unity within the wider Muslim community in Wageningen.

🤝 Join Us

Through these two Iftars, Avicenna Wageningen aims to promote community, inclusion, and cultural understanding during the blessed month of Ramadan.

If you are interested in participating, you are more than welcome to join us. We would be happy to share this special experience with you.
